They'll have to travel through the Caster Tunnels and on to New Orleans in order to rescue Ridley. This is the sequel to Dangerous Creatures (Little, Brown, 2014), a spin-off from the best-selling "Beautiful Creatures" novels. Accessible and fast-paced, this Southern gothic will be embraced by fans of the first installment.

Grades 8-12 Fans craving more stories of Casters, Mortals, and Darkborn will relish this series entry from the creators of Beautiful Creatures. Ridley Duchannes and her boyfriend, Wesley Link Lincoln, are on the run, having survived the fire at Lennox Gates' New York nightclub. They don't get far before Ridley, a powerful Siren, is captured by the evil Silas Ravenwood. Desperate to rescue her, Link needs allies, and he pulls together a team that includes his bandmates; old friends from Gatlin; and Gates, who has his own reasons for helping to find Ridley. As in the previous books, the point of view switches from character to character, giving readers insight into Lennox's doomed love; Ridley's hopelessness and newfound power, even while trapped in Ravenwood's dungeon; and Link's quest to find trustworthy companions.
