When Ariel Hart, a middle-aged movie star, suddenly realizes she won't be offered any more roles, she sets out on a series of zany maneuvers to begin a new career, finally buying a San Diego trucking company (``Able Body Trucking''). Between lessons in truck driving and martial arts, she searches for her lost love of 34 years before. In the meantime, Ariel also strikes up a romance with an avocado rancher with a past. When his enemies sabotage the trucking company, a host of Hollywood stars come to the rescue and long-lost lovers reunite to live happily ever after. A wild and crazy heroine and slapstick humor aren't what one expects from a Michaels (Dear Emily) novel, but they make for a memorable reading experience.
