Raised in Paris and blinded at the age of eight, Lusseyran teaches the listener about being blind and seeing the light of the world, the light from within. The story of Jacques Lusseyran is incredible, as is each word that describes his life and experiences. As a teenager during World War II, he becomes a leader in the French Resistance and is ultimately captured by the Germans and sent to Buchenwald. Not only is the story of Lusseyran spell-binding, so is the narration of his tale by Andre Gregory. Gregory reads in a beautiful, evenly paced voice which is perfectly suited to the work. The action flows from one episode to another; the abridgment goes unnoticed. This audiobook will touch your soul and light the world around you. M.B.K.
