Eventually, Lusseyran was arrested and sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp in a transport of two thousand resistance fighters. He was one of only thirty from the transport to survive. As a teenager during World War II, he becomes a leader in the French Resistance and is ultimately captured by the Germans and sent to Buchenwald. Not only is the story of Lusseyran spell-binding, so is the narration of his tale by Andre Gregory. Gregory reads in a beautiful, evenly paced voice which is perfectly suited to the work.
